What PC hardware company do you recommend?
We typically recommend Dell. Their desktops and laptops can be purchased with XP, which is what we recommend as of September '09. They sell sufficient quantities of laptops and desktops that most of their hardware is well designed and tested. Minimum configuration recommended is core 2 duo.
Some of your customers have Apple computers. Do you recommend them?
There are certain situations where Apple computers save money or increase reliability. In these situations we recommend them. Currently there is what we refer to as a sweet spot for small businesses with several computers but no file server. In some of these situations we can deliver a near enterprise quality solution for one-tenth the cost of a windows-based file server and backup solution. Call for details.
What virus software do you recommend?
All virus software these days is pretty good, but if you have more than a few computers you can benefit from some of the additional features of Symantec Endpoint Security.
